In order to make the process simpler and more time efficient, all entries must be submitted online.

Please read the How to Enter page carefully before submitting your entry. Please also read the Awards' Entry Guide and make yourself familiar with our Terms and Conditions.

Please note that all sections must be completed to submit your entry, and the maximum size of each item to be uploaded must be no more than 8MB.

Categories & Criteria



Foreign Direct Investor of the Year

The flagship Foreign Direct Investor of the Year award recognises exceptional achievement.

You cannot formally enter this category. The recipient of this award will be chosen by the Foreign Direct Investment Awards’ judging panel after due consideration.

FDI Organisation of the Year

The FDI Organisation of the Year award recognises an outstanding contribution to FDI from an organisation currently operating in Ireland.

You cannot formally enter this category as the recipient will be selected from the relevant highest scoring entries in the Sector Awards: FDI ICT Business of the Year; FDI Digital Business of the Year; FDI Pharmachem Business of the Year; FDI Engineering Business of the Year; FDI Food & Beverage Business of the Year; FDI Financial Services Business of the Year & FDI Research & Development Institute of the Year.

Outstanding Contribution to Foreign Direct Investment

You cannot formally enter this category. The recipient of this award will be chosen by the Foreign Direct Investment Awards’ judging panel after due consideration.

FDI Ambassador of the Year

This award recognises the individual who has demonstrated excellence in the quest to encourage Foreign Direct Investment in to Ireland.

FDI ICT Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Information and Communications Technology sector that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Digital Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Digital sector that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Pharmachem Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Pharmachem sector that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Engineering Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Engineering sector that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Food & Beverage Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Food & Beverage Industry that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Financial Services Business of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland’s Financial Services sector that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Research & Development Institute of the Year

This award recognises the foreign-owned enterprise who is primarily engaged in research and/or development in Ireland that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to Ireland via their activities.

FDI Professional Service Provider of the Year

This award recognises the professional service provider that has provided an outstanding and comprehensive service to a foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland.

FDI Business & Technology Park of the Year

This award recognises the business and technology park in Ireland that can provide the most attractive environment to a foreign-owned enterprise.

FDI Project of the Year

This award recognises an outstanding foreign direct investment project undertaken in Ireland over the past 18 months.

FDI External Collaboration Award

This award recognises the collaborative efforts of a foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland with an Irish supplier and/or service provider that has led to a best in class solution, operation or process.

FDI Innovation Award

This award recognises a project, action or initiative carried out by a foreign-owned enterprise operating in Ireland that demonstrates true innovation. This may be a creative solution to a challenging issue, an effective use of technology or a distinct new method or approach..

FDI People Development Award

In this category, judges will be looking for those that invest effectively in the development of their people across an entire organisation, in particular via coaching and mentoring.
